A Very happy Thanksgiving, and thanks to all my readers and commenters!

Yes, folks, 'this the season to express my utmost gratitude to my faithful readers, and it is also the official "Thank Your First Commenter" Day - I am not quite sure, but I think that "official day" was created by Neil a couple of years ago.

I thanked my very first commenter, my friend Susan from Northern Ireland, two years ago, and then my brother, François-Xavier, who was my second commenter, last year. This year, I will thank my third commenter, who commented for quite a while as "anonymous," until he started a blog that he has long abandoned: my friend John, from California. I became friends with John when he saw a comment I had made on a Barenaked Ladies (the band, you perverts!) list-serve, and e-mailed me with a question about France. We exchanged e-mails for quite a while, and I even met him, back in April, 2005, when I went to the Popular Culture Conference in San Diego. We even went to a They Might Be Giants concert together.

Our e-mail exchanges have now pretty much all but stopped, but we have not forgotten each other. We still exchange the occasional e-mail, and he even texted me a few months ago while at a concert where the Pretenders were performing, only because he knows how much a Chrissie Hynde fan and wannabe I am.

So, John, if you read this post, consider yourself wholeheartedly thanked.

And, let's not forget that yesterday marked the 60th Presidential Turkey Pardon. George W. Bush, in an official ceremony in the Rose Garden, pardoned May and Flower, two turkeys who had come from the Seger family farm in Dubois, Indiana. May and Flower were then flown to Disneyworld, where they will serve as Honorary Grand Marshals for the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Note: Due to what I suspect will be a lack of readership through the Thanksgiving weekend, I will post a Friday's Feast on Friday, and will skip Saturday and Sunday, I will post a new entry on Monday.

And thank you for always writing with such intelligence and wit (and throwing in some sexy posts for the rest of us).

"Thanksgiving" does not exist in France and we have some difficulty to understand the importance of that holliday in the United States.

I wish a happy Thanksgiving to all.

And thank you, Elisabeth, for all the good moments that you offer us through your witty blog!
